LIVE2LEAD 2023

Summary

First Live2Lead in Switzerland (German/English/French)

Participants:

32 participants from French- and German-speaking Switzerland, France and even England! But also virtual at the same time.

Technical challenge:

Our technical challenge was to broadcast live from Atlanta to Switzerland, with French interpretation, and redistribute to an online webinar in French.

As you can imagine, it took us a few minutes to adapt. The recording will be completed directly with the French voice, so the result will be even better.

Objective:

Reach leaders involved in the world of entrepreneurship. We had representatives from BNI, HR, directors, entrepreneurs, business coaches, etc.

Panel

The opening panel in French has already led to some interesting exchanges with the speakers:

Dr. Jean-Philippe Richter – Internal medicine with a micronutrition focus, specializing in burnout recovery www.nfbsante.ch

Cyril Dederding – Manager, Modern Times Hotel www.moderntimeshotel.ch

Marc Feldmann – Entrepreneur and BNI member

Nina Costioli – HR and co-organizer of the HR Barcamp (120 HR reunited in 2023)

Dr Richter gave a very clear overview of what burnout is, how it starts and what we can do to avoid or cure it. Simple, clear and full of hope, pointing the way away from antidepressant treatment.

Cyril Dederding talks to us about running the Modern Times Hotel with 60 employees and 136 rooms, and how he sets an example in the field by keeping things simple, approachable and close. In the 2 years since he took over the management, the changes are visible.

Marc Feldmann tells us about his different approach to communication and marketing, giving us the example of an article in a well-known newspaper about his company: “Barefoot”, a pleasant environment and amazing working conditions, a company that makes a difference!

Nina Costioli shares her thoughts on the complexity of the leader’s job, and how it’s not enough to be qualified in know-how, but also in people skills and how to lead a team, which is another job. As an HR specialist, she provides support to directors and managers. She concludes with the pertinent question: “What is the future leadership and work model for the new generation?

The 120 HR staff gathered at the Barcamp had no answers, but plenty of questions.

Value workshop: ATTITUDE

In this video, we present a value path training session (Roundtable) at Bobst. Each table then learns how to put the course into practice for 1 hour, in German, English and French. Our virtual participants also zoom in on a values journey.

Rebroadcast LIVE2LEAD live from Atlanta (3pm – 7pm)

At 3mp we start the rebroadcast.

JOHN MAXWELL

John Maxwell sets the tone: are we high road, middle road or low road leaders? Relevant examples and practical applications. John was able to surprise us with new topics and also with his ability to express the complex with simplicity. He touched us with his eyes from the heart. Many examples were taken from his new book “The 16 Laws of Communication”. Not just about communication, but more profoundly about how I express and transmit the message, the passion or the response to the challenges of this world … what is at the heart of my being?

MARCUS BUCKINGHAM

Love + Work: How to find what you love, love what you do, and do it for the rest of your life.
Marcus Buckingham, world-renowned researcher and New York Times bestselling author, helps us discover where we give our best, at work and in life.
People have long been told to “do what you love”. It sounds simple, but the real challenge is figuring out how to do it in a world that isn’t designed to help you. Most of us don’t really know what we love, what brings us passion and fulfillment. Unfortunately, there is no person or system dedicated to discovering that crucial intersection between what you love to do and how you contribute to others.

Marcus Buckingham shows us how to free ourselves from this conformity – how to decode our own motivations, transform them into their most powerful expression, and do the same for those you lead and those you love.
– How can you use what you love to reveal your unique gifts?
– How can you identify what makes you different from others?
– How can you choose the roles in which you’ll excel?

Loving Work provides answers to these and other questions so you can:
– Choose the right team role.
– Compellingly describe yourself in interviews.
– Change your current role to bring out the best in you.
– Position yourself as a leader so that your followers quickly trust you.
– Make a lasting difference in your team, company, family, or with your students.

RYAN LEAK

Chase failure: What our goals require most is the courage to fail.
In discussing failure, Ryan Leak shares the blueprint for success by giving you an approach to seeing which failures are predictable, so you can more easily avoid them or more effectively deal with them when they occur.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? Pursuing failure means having a vision of a dream, a goal, a mission, and knowing that the road will be paved with failures, while moving forward with conviction and passion. This is what separates those who succeed beyond measure from those who are content to exist. Fear of failure locks you into a box, blocks innovation, and makes you hesitate every time you consider taking a risk that could help you achieve goals beyond your wildest dreams. As leadership expert Ryan Leak explains, you don’t have to conquer fear. Just do it while you’re scared and take really good notes.

When you chase failure, you’ll either win or learn. With a little luck, both will happen.

KEY LESSONS
– How chasing failure will get you further than chasing success.
– A roadmap for the discipline needed to succeed through failure.
– Understanding how to become today what you want to be tomorrow.
